Pretty big win and appreciation moment. I started working with an artist back in 2020, doing synth sound design and vocal post production. Fast forward to today, I’m sitting on a bus on tour in china running FOH for festival stages a size I could never imagine and coming back in December for China, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore. Investing in long term relationship is the goal!

I started using inbound marketing last week. Had a couple inquires from that. Took my time preparing for calls and making sure I was solid in my offer. Fast forward, had two sales calls back to back today. The first one is super excited to work but needs time to raise funds. The other is looking to send over his payment this coming week. I have a call with an outbound lead tomorrow. Just a casual call but we already have a great bond , there’s def trust there as I created a track for her and also made content out of it. Hopefully we can lock something in as well. I’ll keep y’all posted.

For actual productions I try and get a melody idea first. I find it so much easier to build around that! Have go to samples ready, can always swap them after. Also have a template for production. Just blank channels where things go etc. Serum loaded, piano loaded, guitar amp loaded. Vocal chain on a channel. Takes away all the setup faff and just delete what you don’t need!

Aug '23What I've done in the past (not that I'm an expert in proof sessions, as I rarely do them) is I just straight up ask them. I would say something like "Hey I really love what you got going on. I would love to work on something with you. I can't produce a full song for you, as this is my full time job. However I'd love to do a writing session (or send loops, start an idea ect.) for free with you just to get something started."
