An artist I've worked with on a few singles in the past just submitted her first payment for an album project! I've only produced singles for anyone thus far, so I'm really excited to 1) have a lot more work than normal and 2) work on a collective body of work that will be presented together. If you have any tips or experience on how your work with EP/albums has been different than singles, and how you keep a larger project like that sounding cohesive but also not same-y, I'd love to hear it.

After doing a good amount of outreach in starting to go through the business side of things, I’m thankful to say that the hard work paid off and got me to land my first client who’s going for an EP 🔥 I’m also truly thankful for @Daniel Grimmett and @James Littier who walked me through my first stages in getting things off the ground as well.

My goal this year was to double my rates so that I don't have to spend so much time balancing chasing new projects while working on current ones. Hit 2 huge landmarks over the weekend. First £4k month in Feb 18 months of sobriety Not to mention that I've been hitting over £3k consistently for 6 months now. For the first time in my career, I've felt stable and in control of the work side of things (and no doubt that's helped with the personal stuff too). I finally got my first production sale, with the full fee! And I absolutely LOVE the artist and the song we made. When we did the casual call, we vibed but she didn't have any songs ready to go, as she is about to release an album. I suggested we try a songwriting session, and sent her a couple of instrumentals that I created during the Groundworks program. It’s been months since my I got my first deposit from the initial artist I began working with, and hundreds of outreaches later it feels great to know I’m capable of doing this with more than one. This artist also wants to release a 4-5 song EP but begin with one song to see how it turns out. Just closed on an ethnic hip hop project for a formerly signed artist out in Brazil. The goal of the project is to create the next single he's performing at a festival in Brasília. This'll give not only him but me a lot of exposure to a slew of other artists out there. 🇧🇷

Halfway through the program and it's working for me! I've closed 10 new clients in these 6 months. 8 of those were closed in the past 10 weeks after a 12 week slump of 0 sales. If I've reached a tipping point where I can continue to close a new client nearly every week, my client base is going to grow exponentially in the coming years. Which is exactly what I came for. I'm so exited to share that I just got the first payment to produce a 3 song EP for a local artist. :) I found her on my first week of outreach, we have been in conversations and met a couple times during December and she just made the first payment to start this week. Very exciting!

I started my Outbound work in December and booked a few calls for this month (holidays are a hectic time), but I just had my first call with an artist from overseas and landed my first production deal from outbounding. Starting with 1 song but they expressed the desire to have 5 - 6 releases this year, so we’ll see how our first track together goes and then look at signing them on for the rest!
