Just wanted to drop a quick appreciation post for Daniel and the team 🙌🏾 Before working with Dark Label, I’d been creating production content for around 7 years, but I was burning out trying to run a sample pack business on my own. It was a lot. Dan came in and helped me simplify everything. We put together a mentorship offer that followed a similar structure to how artists work (applications, sales calls, proposals etc...) An artist I worked with pre Dark Label came back for a second song recently. During our catch up call we chatted about my new process (thanks to Dark Label) and she was more than happy to agree to a higher rate $250 above our previous song just a couple months ago. Feels like a step in the right direction of being able to communicate my value 🙂

Celebrating my first time successfully moving an artist through cold DM to casual call to proof session to paid deposit for remote song production via sessionwire. I went from the proof session directly into the sales call. After the session/sales call I sent her an email proposal that she paid upon receiving. Week 7 of 30 outreaches per week. Just finished my first casual call, and it felt awesome! The fact of just doing it, feels like a win, thank u guys for all the support!

Very small win in the grand scheme of things but started outreach a week ago, had my first casual call today and booked a proof session from it!

I just got through the initial marketing videos. For a consultation this morning I thought it would be fun to try using the 3 part offer. This made the interaction of explaining what I'm offering as a 'producer' (apart from an 'engineer') so much smoother than any other consultation I've had up until this point. Now we have a songwriting session locked in and most likely a full production in the near future! Thanks Dark Label!

May was officially my first month cracking $5K, almost exclusively from productions (and closer to $6K actually in the end). Even though it's just a number, it feels like a really solid milestone since it was my short-term income goal when I joined Dark Label. I was only bringing in ~$2K/mo around then just 6 months ago. Hey everyone, Yesterday I closed another big project this year. It’s going to be a bossa nova/rock album that I’m super excited about. What helped me close was pitching the momentum model and taking monthly payments instead of taking payments phase by phase. Happy to share that I just got confirmation to work on a new song with an artist I connect with musically, at a good rate and with the project of keeping it moving to make a 10 song album over the next 12-18 months.
